As more and more teachers in our district are using Google Apps, I've discovered a way to easily share a document with a class full of students. Instead of typing in all of your students' email addresses every time you want to share a Google Doc with them, you can create a Google Contact Group. In the embedded document, you will see step-by-step directions on how to create a Google Contact Group. For example, if your contact group was called "Fourth Grade 2014-15", I could type in that name as the "person" I want to share a document with and it will go to all of the members of a group.
I encourage you to take the 10 minutes to set up a Google Contact Group one time that will save you from countless minutes of typing in all of their email addresses each time you want to share something with your students.

The purpose of this blog is to provide technology tips for teachers to use in their classroom. I also plan on highlighting some of the great ways I'm seeing technology used in Granville County Public Schools.

Welcome
Welcome! I have been wanting to start a blog to capture many of the great things I'm seeing around Granville County Public Schools (GCPS) and decided to just go for it. The purpose of this blog to is offer short, succinct posts containing technology tips. These tips might come from things I've seen out and about GCPS, technology I've stumbled across on the internet, or tools I've seen at a Professional Development training. Stay tuned for technology tips for your classroom!
